Geek Phone Talk

Everyone who doesn’t obsess over their cell phone /  PDA, stop reading now (particularly my girlfriend if she reads this thing).

For my dork friends, let me tell you that after using the iPhone since the day it came out (I actually waited in line for it), I grew very sick of it’s many frustrations, including but not limited to:

-lags in emailing

-no search for emails

-slow getting the camera function going

-and of course, no copy/paste

So on Sunday I bought a BlackBerry Bold.  I was so psyched.  Like most other geeks, I had been running the 8700 up until the iPhone, and I was excited to go back to the BlackBerry world and have a fast and efficient operating system.  I thought my days of Apple Chic were behind me.  However, after just two days, I had to give the thing up. The screen is so small.  It’s hard to read.  My contacts wouldn’t sync.  Google Maps is almost unusable relative to iPhone.  No music.  Camera, though higher resolution, somehow didn’t look as good.  And it’s not cute looking.  It’s like using Windows after years of using a Mac.  It just didn’t feel right.

So today, I had to go and get an iPhone.

End of geek story.  Did I really need to make this public?  I guess this is what blogs (and lonely nights in Atlanta) are for.
