217.8

I’m not quite sure how it happened, but somehow I just weighed myself and the little numbers on the scale read 217.8 lbs.  Just as recently as June they were reading out 194.2.  So that means in approximately six months I’ve managed to add 23.6 pounds, which makes me significantly more substantial.  I’m going for 300, and while I know I got a long way to go, my eyes are on the prize.  I am finding that I have a lot more trouble climbing stairs and I absolutely never exercise, so I think I am heading in the right direction.  And ever since May, I have been a vegetarian, and I think that my steady diet of French Fries, potato chips and pizza is really paying off.  As the great Jimmy Cliff said, “You can get it if you really want, but you must try.  Try and try. Try and try. You’ll succeed at last.”  This is Sparta!  300 here I come!

YES WE DID!!!

Last night as I sat alone in my Marriott hotel room in Atlanta watching this incredible news, I realized that it took eight years of Bush’s horrendous presidency to get us to where we are today.  Despite the worse economic crisis in a century, two wars, and the tarnished luster of America on the world stage, I will accept this sacrifice since that is what it took for us to be where we are today.  I have never been prouder to be an American or more excited for what the future holds. Change has come.
